How West Star Ltd handles personal data on weststar.kz.

1. Introduction

West Star Ltd ("West Star", "we", "us", or "our") is a B2B company registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan, with its headquarters in Astana. We operate the corporate website https://www.weststar.kz/ (the "Site") and an in-house content automation platform that publishes our own editorial content to our official social media channels.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit the Site, how we use that data, the third-party services we integrate with, and the rights you have as a data subject. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

2. Information we collect

We collect the minimum amount of personal data necessary to operate the Site and respond to inquiries.

Information you provide voluntarily:

  • Name, email address, phone number, and message content when you submit our contact form.
  • Any other information you choose to share when corresponding with us by email.

Information collected automatically:

  • Technical information about your browser and device (user agent, IP address, language preference, screen resolution).
  • Usage information (pages visited, time spent, referring URL, navigation patterns).
  • Cookie identifiers (see Section 5).

We do not collect sensitive personal data (health information, political opinions, religious beliefs, biometric data, etc.). We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 16 (see Section 8).

3. How we use the data

We use the personal data we collect for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiries submitted through the contact form or by email.
  • To improve the Site based on aggregated usage statistics.
  • To publish original editorial content authored by our team to our official social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Threads). This processing involves only content we have created — it does not involve visitors' personal data.
  • To comply with legal obligations that may apply to us under Kazakhstani or international law.

We do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

4. Third-party services

The Site and our content automation platform integrate with the following third-party services. Each provider operates under its own privacy policy.

  • LinkedIn (Community Management API) — we use LinkedIn's API to publish original articles from weststar.kz to our official LinkedIn Company Page. No visitor personal data is transmitted to LinkedIn through this integration. See LinkedIn's privacy policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Meta Platforms (Facebook Graph API, Instagram Business Login, Threads API) — we use Meta APIs to publish the same content to our official Facebook, Instagram, and Threads accounts. No visitor personal data is transmitted to Meta through these integrations. See Meta's privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.
  • Yandex Metrika — we use Yandex Metrika to collect anonymized aggregated traffic statistics about the Site. Yandex Metrika sets its own cookies. See Yandex's privacy policy at https://yandex.com/legal/confidential/.
  • Google Analytics (may be enabled in the future) — for similar aggregated traffic statistics. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not share personal data with any third party not listed above, except where required by law.

5. Cookies

The Site uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — to remember language preference and session state.
  • Analytics cookies — set by Yandex Metrika (and, if enabled, Google Analytics) to count visits and analyze how the Site is used. These cookies collect information in an anonymized aggregated form.

You can manage or refuse cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may impact basic Site functionality.

6. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected:

  • Contact form submissions and email correspondence — up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless an ongoing business relationship justifies longer retention.
  • Server log files — up to 90 days.
  • Aggregated analytics — up to 26 months (in line with default Yandex Metrika and Google Analytics retention windows).

After these periods we delete or anonymize the data, unless we are required to retain it for legal reasons.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the data-protection regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and, where relevant, the EU General Data Protection Regulation for visitors in the EU), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
  • Withdraw any consent you have previously given.
  • Lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority.

8. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that we have collected information from a child without proper consent, please contact us and we will delete the data immediately.

9. International data transfers

West Star Ltd is based in Kazakhstan. However, the third-party services we use (LinkedIn, Meta, Yandex, Google) operate global infrastructure and may process data in countries outside Kazakhstan, including the United States, the European Union, and Russia. Each provider implements its own safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses, regional data centers, etc.) — please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the Policy was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
